Phu My Bridge, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Phu My Bridge is a huge bridge that links District 7 with District 2 of Saigon. You have great view over Saigon but unfortunately Saigon is too polluted and it is almost impossible to get a sharp photo.

Above, you can see a photo taken at night from Phu My Bridge. It was a very windy evening and our tripods couldn’t really stand it. The photo was taken with Sony NEX-5R.

The sunset viewed from Phu My Bridge. The pictures was taken with Sony NEX-5R.

The above picture is taken from the same bridge but with my pocket-able, yet capable camera, Canon S110. This camera is very capable considering its tiny sensor size.

This time I took with me the old bridge camera FujiFilm S3300 (the three photos above) for its zoom capabilities and I tried it. It doesn’t have a live-view mode so all manual settings must be guessed.

If you ask someone, he wouldn’t advise you to go on that bridge alone at night. I heard that many robberies had happened in the past on that bridge and many photographers avoid it. However, there are other people on the bridge enjoying the cityscape so you might be safe around them.
